Alexander McQueen had a homecoming Sunday night, when the label returned to its London birthplace for its fall 2016 show. Fashion fans camped outside. #McQueen hashtags began to trend. Models queued backstage for their 7 p.m. entrance. And we began to keep a style score on—and off—the catwalk. At least, they are on the runway: designer Sarah Burton embroidered two lace evening gowns with giant sequin unicorns, while smaller versions dotted the evening coat that Natalie Westling wore to open the show.
